Why Do I Need to Check out Natural Movement?
That’s a good question. First you should ask: What is Natural Movement? In some ways it’s all in the name. The goal is to train so that we can move in the ways our bodies were built for. We were born with incredible abilities and coordination to jump, run, climb, balance, lift awkward things. Yet in our world, we lose most of these skills before we even have a chance to develop them.
We’re amazed when we watch Parkour, or Ninja Warrior. We wonder how these super-athletes are able to make such impressive movements look so easy. and yet these basic skills are within all of us.
Natural Movement, or Movnat, is a training philosophy that takes us back to these basics.
In this episode, we talk with Lucy Paget, founder of the Intrinsi Osteopathic Clinic and Natural Movement Centre.
As you probably know, one of the things that gets us most excited here at the Beautiful Futurists is the idea of connecting to ancient and ancestral knowledge and wisdom. Whether it’s in architecture and design, or health, fitness and nutrition, we certainly think we’re better off when we’re using all the information available to us, rather than ignoring tradition in favor of untested ideas.
In this episode we talk about:
- How a practice in Natural Movement can be gateway to becoming ninja warriors, or at least, getting in touch with our innate, ancestral potential.
- Why Lucy and her family got rid of their dining room table
- How to feel fitter and healthier by incorporating more movement into your daily routine
- And much more
