Nutrition and diet is possible the most mis-represented concept in today’s society. Deeply ingrained into our mindset is the belief in the traditional ‘food pyramid’ that preaches large quantities of grains, sugars, starches, dairy; maintaining the same routine and balance everyday.
But what if this didn’t work for everybody?
As it turns out, it doesn’t necessarily work for anybody. Some people can tolerate it better than others. But most are left without the fundamental building block to long-term wellness. By substituting what should be a foundation of nutrient density brought about by eating a large variety of fresh foods; vegetables and properly farmed meats, and filling that space with addictive sugars and processed starches, we weakening and taxing our systems, setting ourselves up for short-term illness and long-term disease.
Amber Romaniuk is catapulting a better framework into the mainstream. By opening people to the idea that they have individual needs, concerns and sensitivities, she is helping them avoid the pitfalls of unhealthy eating, and the negative physical and psychological effects of food addiction, binge eating, and, in general, not knowing how to take control of their own lives.
